Як зазначалося раніше, колекціонуванням займаються люди, які відносять себе до області геології, але найчастіше вони геологами не є, дана наука вивчає мінерали, руду, гірські породи, з метою зробити внесок у науку, але не за особистісним причин. Мати таку колекцію – здорово і цікаво. Будь-яке захоплення повинно бути перш за все для душі.
